Why the fuck...? Honestly, the whole point of Steam was to bypass this shit. It seems that more and more games require this shit now. Why?
Six gorillion Minecraft threads but none for just Minecraft, so here it is, and we begin with a ragepost against microsjang's fandumb:
This used to be just expected as paying customers. Now we "should" be grateful for billionaire subsidies of trillionaire megacorps for doing the bare minimum? Really?! NO, REALLY!?
I am so sick of all gamers everywhere having beaten-girlfriend disorder and stockholm syndrome for anti-white juden-commie corpo-clowns who hate them and want them dead for being straight, white, and male AKA "chuds" and "shitlords" and "nazis" and "whiny entitled millennials" and "toxic fans".
I will never purchase media from any corporation except for microscopic indie "two or four guys in a garage" programmers. Other than that, my wallet is locked and will not open for you. Shouldn't have taken massive shits on your potential and current and former customers. Shouldn't have bit the hand that fed your paychecks. Made your beds, lie in it niggerfaggot trantifa trooncucks.
hurr durr he mad he mad he crashin' out fuck your zoomiebonics and soylennialingo cuntarded memeshitforbrained memetrooniggetry
Do you have anyone you play with?
I mostly play single player games now and If I play multiplayer games I usually end up playing in the lobby alone.
I used to have people that I played with years ago but for some reason we stopped talking and went our separate ways.
I used to find randoms online to play with and the conversations used to be great. Now I'm lucky if the person sticks around and all they do is regurgitate memes and can't come up with an original joke to save their life.
I'm usually the one who makes all the jokes.
Vidya is so lonely these days bros.
Anyone else having this same problem?
The reason why the Elder Scrolls is the de facto RPG of the last ~20 years is simple: The modding tools. Morrowind / Oblivion / Skyrim are all *ridiculously* easy to mod. Want to make an over-powered weapon? You can do so in minutes. Create a new hut somewhere in the wilderness? Done. Add a room to a dungeon? Easier than falling off of a chair.
Why hasn't anyone challenged them on this business model? It is as though the gaming community is ceding them the first-person RPG category.
I honestly thought that "The Outer Worlds" was going to make an attempt at dethroning Bethesda and the Elder Scrolls monopoly but they released their game without any modding support and... It failed as expected. Other RPGs have also gone the "No modding support" route as well.
So why hasn't anyone challenged Bethesda yet on this one aspect of their business model?
i built this nice looking bridge
Is it worth donating monthly to KH, so i can download full albums instead each piece individually?
If not, what are other ways to get vidya soundtracks in a most convenient way? I also use YT and then download music there via downloader/converter from MediaHuman.
>Game has weapons that wear out & need constant repair or replacement
Why do game developers display such dumbness? Don't they realize that we're just going to switch to a game where weapons DON'T wear out and need repairing as often as your grandfather goes to the bathroom?
Who what where when why and how did the philosophical change in Nintendo take place that inspired them to never create visually high quality high effort UI again
Lets liven up v.
Anyways, Battlefield 1 was the last good BF game. Cover looks good, but we are not gonna be playing the cover. There are no women on cover, which is strange, but they are in the game anyways. There are gonna be US maps which is a surprising welcome. I just want immersion God dammit and faction restricted weapons and grittiness.
Trailer is set for 24th of July.

These are the things that I hate about Steam games (feel free to include your own):
-- Base game cheap, DLCs expensive
I hate this tactic with a passion. This is functionally just a version of paying for shareware (the really old tactic of giving away a portion of your game in the hopes that gamers love it and buy the rest).
-- Base game cheap, 9 trillion (or some other stupid number) DLCs
Honestly, this tactic disgusts me and some ivory-league gaming executive needs to burn at the stake over this. There's no excuse to have more than a few DLCs in a game at the most. Thanks, horse armor.
-- Game has DRM besides Steam
This makes no sense. The whole point of Steam was that Steam WAS the DRM. Older players will remember that the very first version of Skyrim accidentally shipped without Steam protection.
Anyway, it's just frustrating as a gamer that developers/publishers still keep trying to nickel-and-dime us with these tactics and more. Just make a game, make it good and then it depreciates in sales price over time. Wash, rinse, repeat. How hard is that to remember?
Post GOOD vidya that noone has ever heard of. Bonus points if it's free ( imagine paying for your downtime )
Il start with "Cave Story", arguably the first and one of the best indie games ever made.
Ive been working on it since last year and ive almost finished the art and rules and such for 90% of the characters and game. Its the type that could very easily be translated directly into a video game as well. Its going to have based racial subliminal undertones but obviously not that forward or it would get shut down. Its going to be like a weird mixture of yugioh, chess, and D&D if you can imagine that. Also im going to try and keep the rules to 1 or 2 pages only and keep it pretty simple just to not scare people off. So if you have any ideas about anything for what should be in the game and what shouldnt, just let me know.
5 days left until the Summer Sale ends on Steam and I haven't gotten a single thing. Nothing really excites me to the point where I want to buy it. Anyone here take the plunge and bought something in order to make Lord Gaben an even wealthier billionaire?
Since my thread of /pol/ got saged out of existence....
A FRENLY QUEST
You playing as Apu in an RPG style dungeon game fighting vermin and eating tendies
This game has been in development for around 9 months now, all created using gamemaker (because TIME), and there will be a freeware version
>wdym version
Well, what are the chances that I can put this game on a games store like Gog or steam if I dont call the characters what they are?
>not pepe but... apu apujaista
>not troonjak but.... creepy guy
>not le happy merchant but.... untrustworthy bridge gremlin
I am aiming for this game to be finished in around a year, as I've only made one level so far, but with all the structure of the game already made, level creation will go faster (bosses will need time to be programmed for example, unlike normal enemies which are just copies of eachother but with different art for the most part)
Suggestions: What enemies should be added? Areas? ETC!

FUCK OFF WITH THE UGLY NIGGERS IN EVERY AD
Any boomers out there remember which way the player 1 and 4 joysticks were oriented on these games? For example, if the left-most player pulls the stick away from the screen, does his character move down, or to the right?
It's been ages since I've been to Loverslab (stopped after I stopped playing Skyrim). Anyway, I still had the link saved in my favorites and decided to drop by merely to see that the link still worked. Within a moment of getting there, though, they ad-forced me to some other site which wasn't cool.
So what's the deal with that place? Is it just a malware site now or what? Not planning on returning but would like to know what eventually happened to it.
Gameinformer's new price is going up by 50% higher (29.99/year or 2.99 monthly) and they're offering a """discount""" for early bird subscribers of 19.91 (the old price) for the first year.
TQ: With Tarkir behind us, what are you brewing and in what format?
Everyone was laughing at blue Turtle, how lame it is, so I decided to make something with it in Pioneer. Packed in all the turtles I could think of that weren't complete shit. Nice synergy with Kappa, if they don't block it, you just ninijtusu, destroy their permanent, and replay the Turtle right away. All while drawing three cards in the process. Simic turtle ramp.
Honestly, this is the only sequel to the movie "Tron" that matters to me. Everything else is not canon in my eyes. And the fact that management did everything possible to sabotage the production and it STILL was successful just underscores how awesome it still is to this day. Sad that it never got a true sequel.
Anyone else hyped for this? I have been playing doom since the early 90s and still love blasting demons
If not minecraft ( because the worst company possible owns it ) why not a minecraft clone? I yearn for another based & frenly minecraft server after a LITERAL FAGGOT got the frenschan minecraft server shutdown while playing with an unironic glownigger. I'll tell you that place really had a nice homely feeling to play on.
Is anyone interested? Or is the chan population too grown up for this block game?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQRLujxTm3c
Im obviously not going to buy it and play it, havent bought a game since like 2022 i think and that was Isonzo. Trailer seems very tame, will they be backpedalling on anything? There is a GTAVI threads already on 4cucks /v/, but lets have one here. Mods delete freely if you decide to, its not a quality thread anyways just a disscussion thread.

Henlo, fellow gaymers.
I'm an odd duck and love these types of games. It could be nostalgia fagging, but something about not getting all of the details visually is stimulating.
My addiction for toxic relationships has me hooked on high-highs and low-lows, making me a perfect candidate for hardcore roguelikes, where you must sart over after a single death. Something about a good grind and risking everything I ever worked for really gets my blood pumping.

I'm starting up an succession game.
>A bloodline game, otherwise known as a "Succession game", is a game of Dwarf Fortress, normally played in Fortress mode, which is passed between multiple players in succession. Generally each player has their own unique management strategy, so with each turn one could expect significant changes to be made to the fortress. A classic example, from an earlier version of Dwarf Fortress, is Boatmurdered.
>Bloodline games are often described turn by turn as a story, preferably with screenshots, illustrating everything that happens under the rule of each player.
>Visit here for a list of bloodline games available on the wiki and here, for a larger list of community stories and bloodline games, found on the Bay12 forum.

I'm using the steam graphic version and a Bara Dur volcano style map. Buy it from Steam or pirate it at cs.rin.ru.
It will be uploaded to DFFD. Please namefag so we can take turns in an semi-orderly manner.
What do you think, frens? Is there any chance this won't be a woke mess?
Dear Anonymous Sirs:
I write to you today to address a disturbing web that grows around us in the present day. In honor of our greatest leader who was on April 20th, I would propose a cross-over of our respected boards.
There is talk of The Orcish Question, yes—but a far graver threat ensorcells us. I would like to speak, gentlemen, of The Gnomish Question. There is disturbing evidence uncovered that this rather odd, quirkish species has taken over all major newspaper outlets, in addition to deep connections to all forms of mercantilism and commerce within Arcanum. I am horrified to say that a source near to me has uncovered remote islands ran by one particular gnome-magician, specifically for the forced mingling of orcs with human women by means that I would not feel fit to describe in detail herein. Many of our figureheads in the realms of government, theater, and worship are involved but rumors speak of wide-scale suppression of these materials—let alone swift justice.
Long-standing has been a shift in our entertainment theaters and newspapers, with a robust emphasis on such interspecial relations, which I can say with confidence does not fit the views of my neighbors, friends, and our meeting places at the temple. There is a distinct pattern of gnomish names behind these articles and supposed 'entertainment'. No Smith, Balton, Torian, or even Magnus is behind such publishings - it has only been the Vollingers and Goldstocks.
Can any more of the respected gentlemen, forestfolk, and stonepeople spread light on this matter? What are we to do?
P.S.
I have attached documents to this letter, which hopefully the courier did not lose.
P.P.S.
More volume of materials on this matter will be arriving shortly.
Any other enjoyers of the best Post-Apocalyptic Kentucky Simulator game? Dev is a total fag but mods are great and there are many different ways/scenarios to play. I feel it's really quite comfy at times, especially with some of the authentic music and media mods.
>tfw your little sister dies 'cuz you didn't collect enough money to pay for her surgery in time
Man, for such a cutesy looking game it sure hits hard sometimes.
I have alot of old games, I used to be a soyjak and "collect" this sort of shit. I've recently tried playing a lot of them only to realize that a MAJORITY of them are terrible. I then tell someone, probably online, "hey game X is terrible because it does Y" and all of the nostalgia boomers start lecturing me about how it "inovated le vidya".
Fucking nerds.
Do they enjoy suffering? Isnt vidya supposed to be for downtime?
Thoughts on this masterpiece?
Any fans of really old video games? This is one of my favorites, the graphics are woefully outdated and you have to boot up a windows 98 box just to play it, but its worth the effort.
Don't mind me, I am just posting the greatest movie based game ever. I am also posting the greatest book based game(as the game drew extra inspiration from the book even the movie didn't).
Y'all have played this right?
opinions about this character?
Are they really owned by kikes? Seems like they are.
Isonzo moderators on Steam forums told me that i was asking for innaccurate and immersion breaking stuff for the game, that is absolutely false. Beretta M1918 was in the game files since beggining and its now finally implemented in the game along with cosmetics such as Dunand visor and various painted stalhelms and very cool uniforms. This is how you perfectly balance between accuracy and creative liberty, Isonzo is now on par with Battlefield 1.

They started winning just as they backed out of losing.
I know that I should give up hope ever seeing the 1996/7 version of Prey ever leak (no, not the 1995 E3 version which already did). However, this screenshot looked so good back in the day and it still elicits a Reptile Response in my brain.
Post the screenshots of cancelled games that you wish could somehow be found or revived.
I just want to show here a personal example of how much i loved one vidya to the realisation i dont actually own it at all (at least in the forseeable future). Vidya i am talking about is Battlefield 1.
>My most played game with 2000+ hours
>pic related my custom soldiers mods i never released
>Game i modded the most and know autistically too much about in game files
>Have files of closed alpha and closed beta builds and special mods called Incursions
>Made mock up concepts for serbian faction
Everything was fine as it could be until EA decided to implement their disguting Kernel level anti cheat to Battlefield 1, then realisation hit me hard. Like most modern games Battlefield 1 is heavily tied to service that provides it, that means if there werent private server clients like MARNE (which still require you to own the official copy of the game) Battlefield 1 is in EA`s hands without mercy and it is not your property. MARNE client is right now a completely functional experience that allows Battlefield 1 to still be modded, but it is a dead place (no active servers and NO bots) while official servers are still kicking hard, it just goes to show how good and quality of a game Battlefield 1 is (truly the good last BF game).
Yes i have played BF1942 mod called B1918, but it doesnt hit well enough despite having more factions. I have tried BF3`s Venice Unleashed yesterday and i was pleasantly surprised, fun-bots do keep the game alive and going, not everything is lost, but it is sad how all of these clients have to rely on official copies and stay away from helping archiving by making these work for pirated version of said games.
Frosty Tool Suite is a open source program that is used to make mods for Frostbite games. Original developer that goes by Gman left long time ago to work for EA (all the way back during early stages of Frostys development), after him one of the lead devs that goes by CadeEvs also left like last year or something to work at Epic iirc. Whatever is left of Frosty devs, are the biggest assholes ive ever encountered, they always have excuse of "its open source" everytime someone points out an issue and they always focused more on SW: Battlefront II than any other game. After the inclusion of EA`s Kernel level anti cheat, they have a rule on their server that states:
>Discussing piracy, leaked, or illegal content is not allowed (This includes leaked, decompiled, or modified versions of Frosty, this also includes bypassing anti-cheats, this is a very strict rule)
This rule makes sense from a legal standpoint, but it completely diminishes the entire existence of Frosty because major games cannot be properly modded due to anti cheat. Battlefield 4 was never moddable even before this due to punkbuster (fuck pb wholeheartedly).
This is a longer thread, so thank you frens if you stood and read all of this, very much appreciated. If you have had similiar experience like this with your favorite game, please share it here, talking about this is never a bad thing.
Update dropping now, servers under live maintenance
I think new Stadium mode is about to drop (3rd person view first time ever)
Yes I know it's a game filled with fags and trannies
Welcome newfrens, who might have been oldfrens.
Anyone like Master of Orion II?
It's a grand strategy game, kind of a proto-Stellaris, from way back in the 90s when gameplay and depth mattered more than graphics and woke messaging. They don't make them like this anymore.
The best parts are that you can design your race and design your ships.
What's your Master Race?
What are your favorite tactics?
I like tanks. Do you like tanks? What is your favorite game with tanks? I like War Thunder because not only it has tanks, but it's multiplayer. And it's moderately realistic to boot.
With the growth of Linux gaming, I figured we can have a nice thread dedicated to it.
Which games are you all playing on Linux?
How is the experience?
Which distro? (SteamDeck?)
Can post questions for issues/troubleshooting as well.
Previous Thread: there isn't.

Hello? Is anybody out there...?
Finally got in the mood to play cyberpunk 2077 again and while it's not a good RPG, I love looter shooter, rocking thousands of hours in Destiny and The Division. Back when I first really started on CP77 2.0 just launched, but there were a lot of quick patches that kept killing my mods.
Well now look at me go, I am running over 100 mods right now, 80 of them enhancing immersion and gameplay. At first I was playing on my PC and streaming to my steam deck, but now I go away over easter so I had to find a way to install my mods on my steam deck and make it run. Little fucker actually manages over 100 mods at a stable 30 fps.
>ninten year olds will defend this
Honestly, it's hard to believe that I live in a timeline where an open-source, supported, free Thief 1/2 clone that runs out-of-the-box exists.
I still have no idea why people clamor for the original when The Dark Mod can be downloaded for free and played today. This project is magnificent.

If 4chan is really gone, then it only figures that some of their functions will spread to other chans.
Here's a thread for you to request tabletop RPGs and see if anyone will be generous enough to point you in the right direction.
I'll post more info as I recollect it as it has been a while since I used that feature.
Seriously, I used to be a sucker for a good deal on Steam even if the game wasn't in my wheelhouse of preferred genres.
However, I'm tired of the tricks that developers / publishers use to fake a good sales price, such as:
** Base game cheap but the DLCs are expensive: Sure, you can buy the base game for next-to-nothing but to get the full-game experience will soak you for $$$.
** Base game cheap but there are 1,000+ DLCs: Honestly, this tactic infuriates me to no end. This is the logical extension of "horse armor" from Oblivion.
** Nice puzzle game that has no level editor: Even when you find a nice puzzle game, the developer doesn't include a level editor so that the game is effectively just an one-time playthrough with no replayability. Why?
** Older game never has a decent discount: Seriously, if your game is 5+ years old, I should never be paying more than $10+ dollars for it unless it is "Minecraft"-levels of popularity.
What are some retail tactics that you don't like concerning gaming?
Trilogies are overrated. What's the best duology?
