Server admin here trying to manage this site is driving me crazy, I need to take a step back. We didn't really plan this out, I wasn't aware of the scope of how much a problem spam would be. I have disabled images for now, and we are brainstorming on what we can do. The goal of this site was to create a less degenerate 4chan, but I feel we are pandering too much to people and were not being strict enough, which on the Internet just devolves into degeneracy. Bickering and arguing with people never actually accomplishes anything. I also feel pornography is really messing with peoples heads nowadays, and I wish it didn't exist - pretty much everyone part of gen Z is addicted to porn now. And its normalized so we allow it. I've never really understood why people like watching other people do things so much - It's a lot more fun and rewarding when you are the one actually doing it. Also, please stop yelling at people for stuff like the spacing in their posts, why do you care so much? You are just being an ass for no real reason. We'll be back we're going to win in the end - just need some time to plan and get sorted. There were accidental deletions. We'd like to explain how it happened, why it happened, and what we've done to prevent it happening again. A HOW: The moderators do what’s peaceful and best for the community. In preserving the peace while keeping a banned member away, we’ve implemented a few ideas. - 1. NSFW filter We have the ability to automatically filter NSFW things 24/7 with high accuracy, completely killing NSFW spammers. – 10 false negatives (posts that shouldn’t have gone through were allowed), – 1 false positive during testing (0 non-spammers affected). This proved useful, but insufficient. Spammers are able to VPN hop. - 2. A Dynamic VPN filter We can dynamically turn our VPN filter on and off and block ones spammers are frequently using. These two tools are a blessing. I was testing a more forgiving solution: it would keep the peace for anyone who was already an active poster and quell spammers. However, I B WHY: We were testing a more advanced filter outside of a sandbox. C WHAT: - We have changed to a more gracious system: first moving and warning users instead of deleting and banning. - We have and will continue to reduce deleted content and the number of false bans, to keep the peace - We have made a sandbox (picrel) to test new content in.
