Welcome to /k/, Ourchan's weapons & tactics board. Our board centers around weapons, armor, military strategy and other myriad military technology.
While guns are the primary topic, threads involving any other sort of weapons, from swords and knives to tanks and jet fighters, come up frequently as well.

Please note that posting about current conflicts as they pertain to weaponry is allowed on this board so long as the intent is to discuss said weaponry or strategy used within the conflict

- Only one gun control thread is allowed to be up at any given time.
- Use common sense when posting gun threads as obvious troll threads will be taken down.

 Have Fun!
Apparently Carnikcon aka Dugan Ashley just got done up by the ATF for spreading knowledge on how to make explosives? Anyone hear this?

This was his youtube channel that may have been the subject of the legal troubles, but I have no idea

No SMG thread? Now there is. Let's start with the Uru.
It's the kill chain. The signals and strike complex that hardly even requires any physical footprint to fight the war beyond intel assets which can identify locations and personnel for targeting. Like blitzkrieg before, the target is the communications nodes. Only this time in the hybrid war age the targets are decisionmakers. The head politicians and chiefs of staff to paralyze activity within the targeted countries. We've seen this with Venezuela with the capture of Maduro, and now with Iran and the precision killing of Iranian army officials and now possibly the head of government.

As long as the target is the weaker army, the causalities for these kinds of attacks is essentially cost-less. The only real factor to consider is munitions stocks. Since attacks like this are easily replicable, it may be entirely feasible to bomb a country until it throws the white flag and surrenders altogether. That would be an entirely new paradigm for modern war. One which would require a very limited human footprint for deployment.

Until now, the main counterweight to war has been the political costs of causalities and enforcing a draft. Not needing that begins to lower the political costs as well. Going on a world rampage subjugating weaker countries becomes quite feasible. So long as the goal is not to occupy, but to force them to surrender and negotiate their own interface with the imperial system.

This is also how dissidents and dissent is going to be dealt with in countries worldwide, in a parallel but similar way. You can't form a political organization of any size without the government hitting it with massive spying, infiltration, deflection and subversion operations on key members to disrupt political objections. It's another version of the kill chain.

These certainly are changing times
I don't think a single revolutionary army since Vietnam has ever won a war against a first world world technologies using gorrilla tactics. Not Afghanistan, since that was merely a US withdrawal. Arguably not even Vietnam, since that was also a withdrawal and the material comparison was never in doubt.

The question is, is Gorrilla tech obsolete? Has big data, cell surveilance networks, ubiquitous cameras and infrared drone technology, massive infiltration, and widespread torture essentially outdated the old methods of history in overthrowing etat power? That is my question of the day.
I've been working on some mascots for the different boards on here. My current two projects are for /k/ and /r/. Respectively, their names are Karl and Covenant-chan. Both are taken from the very good documentary which I recommend for all to watch called Survivalists: The Covenant, The Sword, and The Arm of the Lord.

I've included some clips to give anons here an introduction to them, along with a basic design for Karl so far. This is a very early and crude sketch-up before I add to them later.

Karl's real-life inspiration (although I can't seem to track down the actual individual on the Internet anywhere).

would this be good to hose down a nigger when he passes by extremely quick on a scooter?
The NPC garrison faction just got a patched equipment update. They will all be using these with zoom lens and infrared now. Probably give them tasers next

What is the best Firearm to ammo ratio?

I personally go with 1k rounds per gun in a common calibre, but only 100 rounds for each firearm in an uncommon calibre
Come on in the combat is fine. We got you covered with Irish themed movies featuring the old ultra violence all weekend long on...

>I think each board should have a thread Calling for things they want and for INFO that will go into the N2K thread,(just rolling with that designation for ease,IDC, it can be anything, but should be at least a similar designation on each board.)
>THIS SHOULD BE STICKIED Then, after the board works out what they want in the N2K thread, mock ups or whatever, then they can ask the Mods here in /meta/ to please unsticky the seed thread and sticky the agreed upon N2K and lock it.
>Alternately, Some enterprising Anon can just work one up and have upgrades swapped out as before...
>3rd Position: At a certain point IF every board eventually gets a MOD,(we're talking Longview here,) that Mod will be in charge of taking new info/upgrades for that board's N2K.

>It really doesn't need to be complicated, and It REALLY shouldn't tax the current Mods/Space with constant calls for "Please change this, PLS delet that, Etc."
>There should be No MORE than a once a week request in the beginning, and after that, almost NONE.

These are the future of warfare and a high priority threat against civillian populations by tyrannical governments. We need to brainstorm how to mitigate, detect, and disable them.

Jammers can be detected by triangulation. Modern versions are using fiber optic spooling which cannot be jammed. Wearing a thermal liner with buffer to prevent heat conduction is obviously suboptimal, particularly while the escapee is moving and heating up.

Obviously we need more viable options for survival here
Post your favorite warplanes. Bonus points for combat footage.

The Sten was designed to be simple & mass-produced. However, people have gone on to create even simpler variants (such as the MP2 Machine Pistol, pictured). So how simplified could the Sten get without getting any worse? And could be simplified and made *better*?
