Hey anons, I used to be a pretty active jogger but for a couple of years I've basically only done it thrice, so it is time pick up the hobby again. The shitty part is that it is winter and that I honestly never much avoided running at this time of year.

Do you more seasoned joggers have some advice, aside the usual wearing of hoodies and shemaghs or whatever those half face ski masks are called?
This is what I wear and it keeps me warm during winter hiking:
- moisture-wicking thermal shirt
- thin pull-over sweater
- puffer jacket on outside to stop the windchill
- jeans (with thermal underwear if very cold)
- thin gloves like your picrel
- leather hiking boots
- beanie
- mirrored polarized sunglasses

Multiple thin layers are good because you want to be able to quickly unzip them and or take them off when you start warming up.
Also get a nice smartwatch if you don't have one already. Makes me feel 10x safer innawoods knowing I can't get lost or lose comms.
>t. hikes at least 5 miles daily.

Thank you anon, this is very informative but I am an avid hiker myself, not as frequent as you but I hike for long stretches irrespective of weather conditions.

I was asking more about jogging since while hiking you can sort of regulate your body temperature by slowing or quickening your pace and sheading or adding layers. Something like that is impossible (or very ineffective to tie your outer layer to your waist) while jogging because you do not wear a backpack.

Anyhow thank you for the smartwatch tip, however getting lost in a country with 200 people per square kilometer is impossible.
I'd say it depends on how hot/cold you typically feel, do you often wish it was cooler in the average office?
If you are more cold tolerant, and it's only in the 30s-40s F, (roughly 0 - 5 C) then I often wear shorts and a long sleeve shirt. Much colder than that and you could wear joggers or sweat pants instead of shorts, and add a hat or just ear muffs. I prefer ear muffs to allow heat to still escape while running, you warm up fast, the initial warm up period is the worst.

If you feel cold easier, add a vest or a light jacket, and if you want to take it off as you warm up, just throw it around your neck like a towel or carry it in your hand. Too me it's better to be cold the first few minutes of the run, and not have to carry additional clothing items.
Or just do indoor cardio, like jump rope, until spring.
Does it really get so cold in Germany that you can't run outside in winter for a bit? Have you not done some variant of Wim Hoff?

Maybe in the north but generally speaking in winter we get cold snaps of maximum -10 C here in the south. Generally Temperatures are around 0 C here so jogging is doable in winter. I honestly only have issues under the -3 C mark. I did try Wim Hoff but found that it was retarded and did not work.

Thank you Anon. I never really owned earmuffs but this is a good reason to get some. Also yeah I have bought some normal running trousers. I think that it'll work out. I am 100% overthinking this.

As with most things in life, just get started and put some effort in and it'll work out. No reason we can't talk about running or cardio in general here though.
I just got back from the gym, was mainly lifting but was inspired to jog on the indoor track. Gym was busier than usual due to the new years flood of people.

Cool anon. I personally dislike the gym because it costs money and instead of a gym membership you could simply just buy some dumbbells. Of course I am not a bodybuilder but I am fit. Also women in the gym are a no go for me, you can't even imagine how fucked turbofeminist german foids are.

buddy, wear a gortex or whatever shell and simply open pit zips and/or pockets if you're too hot - reverse if too cold
don't wear shit onyour face or puffer jackets
I've lived in Northern Ontario, Montreal, NYC, and Calgary, and I've never seen a real runner wear that silliness.

layers, toque, gloves
