This thread is dedicated to 3D printing and other small-scale manufacturing processes such as CNC machines, miniature foundries, resin casting, and many others.

The major types of 3D printers available on the average Anon's budget include:

Fused Deposition Printers:
These printers print layer by layer using plastic filament (usually ABS, PETG, or PLA). If these plastics are reinforced with fibers (usually glass, carbon fibers, or wood) these prints can be quite strong. However there is an issue of accuracy with fused deposition printers because the plastics used tend to shrink as the cool so high precision parts are out of the question. Ender and Anet make great and affordable printers for beginners.

Resin printers:
Resin printers can print using a variety of resins that can have plastic, wax-like, or even rubbery characteristics. These printers are much more accurate than fused deposition printers and good for producing high precision parts or molds to produce high precision parts. They are a little more pricey than fused deposition but they are still very affordable.

Clay printers:
These can print using ceramic clays or even metal clay. These are best used for producing sturdy parts that do not need a high degree of accuracy as metal clay and ceramics will shrink in the kiln.

A secret technique to improve the strength of your plastic prints is to electroplate your prints. You can just about double the strength of a 3d print by electroplating it.

Starter general purpose printer that is a good bang for buck. What i mean by general purpose where i can replace parts to suit my needs later but still have a decent device that just works before that time comes.

Really the only affordable printer I know that can print with different types of material is the ender 3 ($150) and it requires a $250 conversion kit to do it. If you want a clay printer the Moore 1 is your best bet. For beginners in fused deposition printers the Anet A8 and ender 3 are great options and have large communities behind them. The elegoo mars 5 is probably the most affordable resin printers on the market.
>>116
I would recommend an ender 3 or anet A8 if those parts don't need to be high precision parts. Fused deposition prints shrink by a couple of millimeters as they cool. If you want something with more precision you will want a resin printers. Creality and elegoo have lots of cheap resin printers. I would also like to state that PLA has a tendency to degrade over time so you will want to use PETG or ABS for prints that need to last longer.

I didn't include any clay printers because metal clay parts can shrink by centimeters after they are produced. That probably isn't what you are after.
Thanks for the help bro >>118

Go learn something right fucking now!
Autodidactic education works. Reading a couple of good books on your own will give you a better education than any modern college course will, and it won't cost you infinity dollars to do so.

4/sci/ made a nice wiki full of textbook recommendations for various different topics in science and math.

Go get a recommendation, pull a PDF off your favorite shadow library, and start learning the secrets of the universe!

No scandal, All the mods and Jannies dropped out or went sideways(Jaaaaackal!!!!--They still love ya..) and both Stu, and Hizzy (and that last unsung Jannie of peace) were the only ones left to try to quell the literal barrage of CP they were getting hit with.
Library is still up, It got funded for another year I think. I uploaded at least 40 books.
BTW, were you in those /TGDG/ threads on 4troons? Funtimes.
It's amazing what you can learn in old library books.

I built a gas powered motorcycle, a gas powered go kart and a battery powered golf cart, 100% from scratch parts I bought at Goodwill, Amazon and Craigslist.

I've taught myself welding, car repair, computer programming and playing piano the same way.
Just from library books.

I actually make my living from the mechanical and electronic knowledge I learned from these books.

I repair slot machines, arcade machines, pinball machines and people pay top dollar to have me restore the old retro games back to their old glory.

Old compilations and encyclopedic collections from family are great too.
I used to post a LOT from my collection inherited from my grandfathers.

I remember how surreal it was the first time I entered a proper library. When I was in college, I used to scan old books that there were no trace of online.

Old books were so much more rigorous, yet paradoxically much more approachable. I recommend reading both old books and new ones when you want to learn a new topic. (because, you know, a book from 1930 won't have much to say about transistors)

>The Replication Crisis: How Science Goes Wrong

Well that depends on the field. The social sciences have a much bigger problem then say chemistry or engineering. Over half of all studies in the social sciences cannot be replicated and sometimes even foundational studies cannot be replicated. In the cases of chemistry or engineering academic fraud is the big problem and that is only going to get worse as chinks, poos, and darkies take over academia. Medicine is both full of fraud and the test methods themselves are flawed. Take cell cultures. Very difficult to work with. So much so that even the same lab doing the same expirement can get different results.

Holy shiieeeet
here's the redpill. God made mankind to know Him, thats why all human beings are inherently religious whether they're aware of that aspect of ther personality or not - and many arent. this is also why the first of the ten commandments is thou shall have no other gods and make thee no false idols which, of course, we do. anything can be an idol. science, politics, sex, fame, wealth, power, etc
oh and one more thing. its unscientific to be an atheist because the overwhelming majority of our species have reported feeling the presence of God and our feelings are a form of emperical observation just like the rest of our senses. science always loses the plot when it enters the realm of pure theory with no emperical observation

How closely related is nuclear energy applications tied to atomic weapons? Can any knowledgeable anons post actual unbiased scientific reports on the matter?

Although this is a /sci/ question, I debated posting this in /pol/, as untrustworthy states frequently accuse other countries of secretly developing atomic weapons alongside of nuclear power technology which I'm skeptical of. For example, Israel has sabotaged Iran's nuclear power programs many times over due to this accusation, but it makes perfect sense that Israel would sabotage Iran's core infrastructure and exports under such a lie assuming the technologies are not actually related at all. Can anyone disillusion me of my suspicions in this matter? I have a background in engineering and mathematics, in addition to reading articles from cutting edge journals outside of my fields of expertise, so I don't mind if any counter-arguments or material gets very technical.

Uranus is a beautiful sight. How big is it?
sddefault_(3).jpg
[Hide] (13.8KB, 640x480) Reverse
It has a diameter of just over 50,000 km. That makes it the third biggest planet in our solar system, but quite a bit smaller than Saturn, the second biggest planet, comparitively.

I also like Uranus. Despite it looking similar to Neptune at first, it has a lot of differences. Its perceived surface appears a lot smoother with less storms than its ice giant counterpart. It also has a significant ring system second only to Saturn's. Uranus feels like the gemstone of the Solar System to me. I just wish its moon system was more interesting, but I like how they follow its nearly 90 degree tilt with their orbits.
