The problem in Windsor, where I was, wasn't the local police. And I don't think it was in Ottawa either. The Windsor Chief at the time, Pam Mizuno, refused to have anything to do with it. She got shitcanned/retired/resigned shortly after. There were no Windsor Police there. It was all out of towners, Ontario Provincials, RCMP, and the riot squad from the London Police Department. The cop who arrested me was the OPP head of counterterrorism stationed in Toronto. I saw one Windsor police car there. The paddy wagons and the cops who put us in them Windsor Police, and they housed us in the city jail, but other than that, the locals had nothing to do with it.
I asked an RCMP guy why there were no Windsor Police there before the arrests. He tried to tell me there were lots of them hanging around. I said, I don't see any Windsor cops here, Are they invisible Windsor Police officers I can't see? He just walked off and back down the street. He never came back. I think he was embarrassed that he got caught in a lie.
