suggestion for new boards:

DIY

Prepper (for lack of a better word) - becoming independent, self-sufficient, and preparing for situations where society cannot provide the essentials for survival. Not intended as a get-lots-of-guns-and-ammo board.

I agree, we need some kind of homesteading, prepper, outdoors, diy, self-improvement board apart from drawing and artsy type stuff.

Honestly I think we have too many boards as it is. /sci/ and /g/ could probably be merged to /stem/.

We should be making diy and homesteading threads on /pol/. Those are inherently political activities.

You can, why not.
i'd say /gen/ is probably the best place for it though since it's board specific.

I'd suggest /b/ to not actually be a 'real' board itself, but a genuine read-only board that randomly selects (non-/hell/) threads for viewing (and perhaps shuffles every day?). Necro'ing and sliding isn't really a thing with a chan of our size, so it'd be put to genuine use of finding content that anons may have overlooked and be able to bring attention to if it was quality.

A second reason is that there's not a big enough difference between /b/ and /ban/ in our current board culture.

Finally, rather than a board that's 'random and off-topic', this feature would encourage anons to bump threads or discuss topics that are likely already suitable for the board they are in.

Just realized I typed /ban/ instead of /bant/.

Agreed. Anyone want to bake in /gen/?
