I'm going to be pretty honest with you guys, the only reason I have heard of this book is because of Luigi Mangayone however I figured that eh had good tastes in terms of literature so I gave it a try.

Thus far it has not disappointed, even if the writing is a little too simplistic in my point of view. Anthropology is not a hard science and the author is obviously a neoliberal cuck, however the ideas expressed here are very interesting and the various theses regarding human development seem plausible, although mostly just shots in the dark in terms of concrete evidence.

If you have the time check this out, you can find pdfs and epubs of it anywhere really .
luigi talked about this booK?

Not in his manifesto but he praised it and its author on his X profile.
I checked out luigi's goodreads. It's mostly fitbro self improver stuff in the atomic habits genre. He was a talented guy but I don't think had much depth to his intellectual side. In the shallows of the dissident sphere.

If you want to know if a book is good, do a background check on the author for his papers/positions. Check who is reviewing the book because this indicates his network- if stupid people are reviewing it, it means it's one of their stupid ideas. If authors of no-name books are reviewing it, it means they were expected to as part of their book publishing contracts.

Academics spend careers learning about abstractions without ever touching grass on the fieldwork to see how widely their construct differ from reality. It's for mentally blind idiots. Especially these big picture books that try to draw it all together, because unless you have a team effort or years of experience you can't possibly know the world outside of your hand. Life is too short to waste on bad authors

It basically is this.

I disagree. Life is stupidly long and you have all the time in the world to read a little out of anything. It is however important to spend more time in physical reality than in the world of books and the internet.
