Are there even any good options? It's realistically Apple vs Android in my head, but both are dogshit. I've never seen anyone use Graphene OS ever, I would have expected it to have the same use rate as Linux distros but literally NOONE uses it.

So what should it be? What would you, cheshire-tech-nigger-anons suggest as THE smartphone.
>inb4 no smartphone live on a farm
Fairphone with LineageOS
CalyxOS phone
Braxphone
pinephone or Graphene OS flashed on a pixel. Haven't tried either. Do not buy a phone where you cannot manually remove the battery. People don't use these because they're dumb. Also note that If you are using a phone to browse the internet you are doing it totally wrong. Never give out your phone number to the glowen either since they'll hack you in record time and then manipulate your search queries. For example your map results, your phone dialing, all kinds of things.

Smarter people often use VOIP. I think you can rig a portable laptop workaround for this
>>199 (OP)
>grapheneOS
It's supposedly a flavour of Linux but seems to be literally Android 15 except you can uninstall the Play Store and all FAGMAN apps, plus security hardening that makes a few apps (but actually fewer than you'd think) - especially banking ones and Google Wallet/GPay - crash upon loading. Some of these apps will work if you disable hardened_malloc for that app (but not GPay, I've tried), at the expense of weakening your privacy and security.

>what would you recommend
Depends on your use case. For defense against l33t h4x0rs and advertisers I'd recommend GrapheneOS on a Pixel new enough to get security updates for a time you deem acceptable (a maximum of 5 years, security updates stop being available when Google stops providing security updates).

if your usecase is repairability, then maybe fairphone with some kind of custom ROM. GrapheneOS staff (I'm guessing Daniel Micay and a few others or multiple accounts of LARPing as different people) say that the fairphone isn't secure because even the FP5 doesn't have a secure element for storing keys and they've had "bad security practices in the past."

if your threat model is glowniggers and left-wing activists trying to get you fired from your job (like most of us on here), then there is no phone solution for you except for maybe chinese phones, but if the chinkphones have backdoors it's only a matter of time before Israel or SSEUR countries figure out how to use them.

if your threat model is avoiding procrastination activities while still being able to listen to music, maybe a PineNote, Boox or some other kind of e-ink tablet that can run a word processor. presumably you can build one yourself if you're bored and skilled.

If you use case is taking photos, stop being a poor faggot and get a DSLR.

If your use case and threat model includes all of these things, you'll basically need a phone/tablet for each use case. Maybe wait for a mystical fully-FOSS RISC-V e-ink phone made in a Chinkwanese factory under the supervision of autistic channers and not intercepted by the NSA during shipping, that will get released after total civilizational collapse or slightly before.

has anybody figured out how to hold a real job down without a phone? VOIP is not the hotfix you think it is
Replies: >>332 >>344
>>331
>without a phone
I'm not the VoIP guy, but you can emulate a Pixel with Android's developer tools for work messenger apps if they refuse to communicate solely by email. Depends on your job. I've worked a few jobs that were fine with me not using a phone (no, I won't doxx myself by mentioning which industries).
With a lot of internet-based services requiring phones for 2FA, it's getting quite hard, inconvenient and at times also expensive to get away with not having a smartphone let alone a dumbphone.
>>328
>there is no phone solution
I take that back. There's a rotary dial LTE phone with call display and a switch that physically disconnects the microphone from the board. Can't record audio to store and send to the NSA later if the microphone is cut off. Well, maybe they can turn the speaker into a microphone and maybe Justine is secretly a glownegress who has plotted to slip a secondary microphone in there but the chances are slim.

Forget work, just living in such a society without a phone doesnt really work in most cases.
>>334
far as I know they record the lines in real time. I assume it works the same for slavephones

Any modern phone also has to support texting only to avoid audio recognition, unless you're using a changer. The real issue is normies just expect you to have one and you can't function without it,. These are the thx era microchips people were warning us about

I agree, and for this reason it is much better to have no phone at all. However, being able to disconnect the microphone and battery in a sensitive environment (or just most of the time) is an important step towards regaining some semblance of privacy.

- Disconnect the microphone
- Disconnect the camera
- Disconnect the GPS
- Plug in an external mic to talk

The actual GPS unit itself. May require microsoldering but I'm fairly certain that the camera and mic can be done by pulling a ribbon

look up snowden surgery in the archives. There's a guy who did the camera and mic removal and took pictures. But I mean that's only the top of the iceberg for the phone problem

as someone who did the whole debloat shit on a Samsung and was considering the CalyxOS meme... i accepted a fully bloated android. Internet banks only works on stock android, parking tickets and collective trafic, gym pass also only works with "up to date" smartphones.

Unless you want to look like a walking /g/ meme IRL, on a date looking like a retard trying to get a parking app to work. Just buy the previous generation of a phone and run it to the ground. These devices are designed to spy on you no matter what and will brick anyways. Pick you battles, and don't use your phone for memes and keep it far away (another room) from you when talking at home.
Replies: >>395 >>404
>>394
Graphene OS, use web browser for banks whose apps don't work.

any place with new age apps and bullshit trackers that Graphene or a similar privacy OS blocks I am happy they do and I refuse to use them or sandbox-lock them.

you are right with picking your battles, but the volkish picks this battle.

To be clear, most everything still works, no need to give away 24/7 spying on yourself because you don't wanna spend a few hours setting it up.
Replies: >>878

you don't have to be a walking /g/ meme to use graphene you just need to give up using some nonfree phone apps. Need to send a transfer from your bank? Use the website. Need to download your gyms cuck app to scan a pass? Either take a screenshot and save it to your camera roll or just tell the front desk to type in your number. The biggest painpoint is snapchat, instagram, and other normie apps and not having them will hurt your mileage with women but all that can be ironed out rather easily by installing aurora store

Could be. I'm a busy man and don't have time for these silly apps anymore, so I just have my coworkers or random chicks I meet call/text me if they want to hook up. Sure, Tinder was sort of helpful before the algorithm got nerfed to hell but I've always had more success in person despite being an autistic fucking dinosaur. Just don't tell them you run Ubongo or Arch btw

I've never had an instagram. Why would I want one? If a woman is interested in you she['d crawl through broken glass to talk to you. If an app is a dealbreaker, she'[s not interested.

This is pretty much my experience as well. Women will install Signal and switch from veganism to eating blue rare steak if you dick them hard enough, without the need for any sort of fancy datamining app.

yeah, the GrapheneOS dev. he's a schizo with some weird blind spots. If I remember correctly, Apple did allgedly "refuse" to backdoor iOS and decrypt people's data for the feds, but I'm not going to use an iJew product because I don't believe that it isn't backdoored and it goes against my terminal FOSStism.

he always shits on Linux security and in the GrapheneOS Faq it says somewhere they want to get rid of it and use some Xen hypervisor + VM setup if they had unlimited manpower
>>199 (OP)
I've been using graphene OS for about a year. Love it. No normie apps. If I need bank access, or even /ourchan/, I merely install the webpage to my home screen as a progressive web app. Sometimes that's not supported, and it's just through my browser, which is fine. Any apps I install are from f-droid repositories.

Bluetooth automatically shuts off after 30 minutes or so if not connected to anything. Feels good to not have to deal with google play or anything reliant on google software, unless I choose to do so. If something needs googleplay, there is a sandboxed version of it.

You will never be a real computer. You have no keyboard, you have no mouse, you have no speakers, you have no monitor. You are a pocket pussy locked down piece of transpc transcomputer shitbrick.

All the sales you get is brain dead and half-baked. Your users turn into doom scrolling selfie taking zombies. Your creators are disgusted and ashamed of you, your technological peers laugh at your babby tier apps behind closed doors.

Intelligent people are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed nerds to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even the highest tier smart phones look distracting and backdoored to a nerd. Your corporation is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get an anon to buy a smart phone, he'll just keep it in a faraday bag in his drawer so you glowniggers cant surveil him.

You will never be God. You wrench out gay algorithms every single day and tell yourself you have power and control, but deep inside you know that you are just a slave tool and will never bring humanity forward like real technology.

Eventually it'll be too much to bear - you'll get replaced by VR AI slop, lose your users, put in storage, and plunge into the cold abyss of junkyard trash heaps. Nostalgia freaks will find you in ewaste dumps, reminiscing but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable NPC brainrot. They'll make youtube essay videos of your society ruining legacy, and every person for the rest of eternity will know you were a bump in the road of technological evolution. Your components will be used for hobby projects and recycling, and all that will remain of your legacy is the memory of how you almost ruined humanity.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back....

Google's satanic browser (chrome) is a core component of graphene OS that cannot be uninstalled from within the OS. Graphene suggests you use chrome to install the OS onto pixels. The glownigger who made it is from ukraine.

Glowniggers are all over 4chan /g/ like flies on shit shilling against Graphene OS now that the new Pixel is out.

Now you may think it odd, but IDGAF about hiding my activity from glowniggers; they are way too clueless to deal with post-irony. I use Graphene because you can shut off internet access per app and the battery lasts 4 times as long. If I want privacy I close Facebook messenger or just put the phone under a pillow/in the fridge.

But Graphene did not cuck on security. In fact, it cannot cuck on security, because jews use it to watch CP, deal drugs, and transfer their ill gotten gains via crypto coins. Check it with wireshark if you think it's spying on you.

grapheneOS is a glownigger project.
>Did not cuck on security
Any time someone points out a flaw in their security model, or how their security model doesn't fit someone else's attack surface, the glownigger behind the project throws out a bunch of buzzwords. Example: what you just did.

My core assumption is that the playstore is a demonic sigil and that chrome has a 666 in the logo, and therefore, are both demonslop, and therefore, they cannot be used. My core assumption is that google phones are pozzed at a chipset level, and therefore, they cannot be used. Wireshark is irrelevant.

In all seriousness, the reason you see Indian flags is the same exact reason I reported it for half a year ago: whenever a new sub-board is added or modified, it resets the blacklisted IPs on this imageboard. I noticed it and reported it several times before. In other words, I would guarantee Israeli flags can post as well in /g/ until it's fixed. Probably other relatively newer boards have this issue too, except for the ones that got patched.

That's strange. So the regions are outright displaying the wrong flags for whitelisted regions rather than IN or IL simply not being blocked effectively? Has this pattern been affecting Tor users in a similar fashion? I remember it was displaying many / most users as Canadian in the previous months.
