I fucking love Leviathan.
The story is simply INCREDIBLE
It really does bring out that fear of the deep blue ocean out in a very believable way. In my genuine opinion, this manhua is an underrated masterpiece up there with solo leveling.

When Manhwas were fewer, there were some decent ones that made one hopeful. Now they have studios running unnecessarily "cinematic" art for total dogshit stories with no development and just the same "killed a super badass enemy again!" for hundreds of chapters. There's also tons of them. But among the crap there are a few promising ones again, like

kek you're very right. it was fun the first 20 times but it gets old.
everything is basically one punch man with korean femboys (straight).
though it is my guilty pleasure occasionally.
Manhuas are superior in a sense where they arent as unnecessarily nihilist as manhuas or introduce pathetic main characters for the sake of nothing.

Well I'm be frank, half the manwha's I read I use to vicariously relive my 20s when I was in a world wide top 10 World of Warcraft guild so I read stuff like Overgeared and Worn and Torn Newbie, both of which capture that mmorpg feeling really nicely. Overgeared does it a little bit better though. The other half in my library are murim manwha which I use to satisfy my longing of missing out on Age of Wushu plus the fact that murim is a genuinely refreshing setting if you consumed mainly western and Japanese media for decades instead of Chinese / Korean. Return of the blossoming blade is a good example.

And then finally there's, like you said, some manwha that are the perfect storm of art and story. For me that's infinite mage for example.

Am reading this slop right now, on EP.135 but this manhua was hilarious and prime reading though.
I dont mind the tropes and let's be honest, the guy is so ugly he deserves a bit of honey in the end.
