I'm starting up an succession game.
>A bloodline game, otherwise known as a "Succession game", is a game of Dwarf Fortress, normally played in Fortress mode, which is passed between multiple players in succession. Generally each player has their own unique management strategy, so with each turn one could expect significant changes to be made to the fortress. A classic example, from an earlier version of Dwarf Fortress, is Boatmurdered.

>Bloodline games are often described turn by turn as a story, preferably with screenshots, illustrating everything that happens under the rule of each player.

>Visit here for a list of bloodline games available on the wiki and here, for a larger list of community stories and bloodline games, found on the Bay12 forum.

I'm using the steam graphic version and a Bara Dur volcano style map. Buy it from Steam or pirate it at cs.rin.ru.
It will be uploaded to DFFD. Please namefag so we can take turns in an semi-orderly manner.

Is also cool.

Here are the rules of play:
Each anon gets a one year turn then uploads the file, the first anon to upload a screenshot in game gets the next turn. Please tell a story, preferably with screenshots, illustrating everything that happens under your rule. Please do not roll back saves, except for deliberate trollary and game breaking bugs. Please namefag when it is your turn to help avoid confusion. Please do build megaprojects.

Mein neger!

Pirate it? Isn't still free as a download on Bay12?

Yes, but not the graphic/ui version.
>>738
The saves work on both so anons can use whatever they prefer.

Boatmurdered /ourguys/ edition? Neat. Would love to read any write-up versions too.

The 7 craftlords, tired of the wheeling and hustling of the old holds set out to found a new hold.

Wandering across the savage savannah they encounter a brilliant twin-peaked volcano. The omen is considered propitious and thus...They...Strike the Earth!

Fireburden the Rightous is born in the 15th of Granite on the continent of Weight, upon the volcano the Hill of Requiring.

I am going to get basic industry and temporary quarters for the next few migrant waves set up. There is flux, easy magma, iron, copper, a light aquifer, sand and clay. It is a savage biome so expect to see giant animals and the occasional attack by them. There is a nice valley that would make great pasture if roofed off.

Mid-summer:
Basic industry is up and glass industry is starting. Hospital, food, dorms are up. Traps are up. Next step is to move the animals indoors, finalize the offices for the manager and stockkeeper.
And...Migrants just showed up. Great more fishers, cheesemakers, and worthless sacks of grabbeler shite. But now the 7 have no need of menial labour.

We've got our first visitor. A bard by the name of Bux. Meanwhile the liason is still here.
Alright. My year is done. We are out of wood and I cannot find any Iron. Right now nothing is automated. There are 12 or so dwarves, the original 7 all have names. Keep them alive please. https://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=17414

The offices are set up, as is the dining room/tavern. Most animals are indoors, only the useless grazers are still outside. We've had the occasional bird attack, probably because all the trees are cut down. Someone needs to run a magma line or find coal stat.

Once someone gets some iron and or steel, they should take note of this: https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Melt_item#Yield

How gorgeous. I love this game.

Namefagging scares me, I'll be honest. Also, I'm a shit player. Pretty sure I always end up going to the circus or finding something nasty deep under an aquifer that just eats all my dorves.

I've got the magma reservoir and it's levers almost done. It has two purge paths and the plan is to tap it, purge it then finalize. Fortunately, levers can be installed in bridges when they are up. Do not forget to use magma safe components if you want to move the levers.

Two dwarves, Niggerella and Shorath successfully tapped the magma with out dying! In celebration Niggerella LaSneeze has been renamed Ella Fireblack and Shorath, Vesta Coalleaper. Now to wait for the lava to settle and finalize the design. I'm a bit worried because there have been no migrants.

It is now spring, aside from a Giant Lemur attack nothing of interest happened. I decided to expand(double) the size of the reservoir so to put magma glass furnaces on the other side near sand. That is also where the forges should go. The other side is temp housing and where other workshops will go. Levers are all linked and named.
Uploaded.

My turn! So far I have filled the reservoir that the last anon dug and have finished temp housing for the 40 dwarves and glass working. Thanks to whoever had the merchants ship out wood, the map has been stripped bare. I've also dug a tap to the caravans and started up the barracks.

Spring has arrived. I've dumped dogs into the caverns to explore for me, in the process releasing a horde of crundles and an elk bird. The dwarves bludgeoned most of them to death with basalt scepters. More importantly, the caverns hold both water and a 2nd magma tube. I've also begun the process of walling off a portion of the map with the infinite green glass the glass-works produce. If no one expresses interest, I plan to continue playing.
