Platner seems to be a pretty good case study of this phenomena, which I see everywhere amongst millenials.
He's got a death's head tattoo, he has allegedly an alt right social media history where he blamed jewish people for modern social dysfunction and wants to preserve gun rights. Yet he also talks like a populist bernie voter and blames the rich, the oligarchy, while seemingly supporting traditionally left social causes like transgenderism and psychedelics. A mixture of left and right attitudes marked by a certain social libertarian streak and personal degeneracy, all soaked in trending social media concepts of the past decade.
Anyways. This sort of figure is not as rare as you'd think. I've met many on the left who are a dead ringer. Similarly, many in alt right circles seem to have eventually converged into this profile as well while merely disavowing leftist anarchy and wealth redistribution. Most people on the old 4chan scene were open to drugs, most believed in some kind of social libertarianism, most were economically right wing but this is increasingly changing as poor prospects push people in to economic left.
I don't know if Platner has a future, but his type is not isolated. What do you guys think, is this guy the future of what male-led politics of the left and right in non elite circles actually looks like?
