Few watch television or film any longer, and those who do are largely comprised of blue pilled boomers with a foot in the grave.  These awards ceremonies are tantamount to pantomimes for ironic self-aggrandisement and adulation, in a medium that no longer has the brainwashing power it was intended to have.  It's a circle jerk that no one but those in it care about.
