I think he's right. Many people seem to get very hostile to Muslims when they're forced to live around them. It isn't an assimilable belief system, it's strident and tries to conquer broader society. Moreover it has bad carriers since the MENA population is constantly involved in gangsterism.
Europe will have intractable ethnic problems for the next 50-80 years until a steady state of ethnic politics is arrived on. Perhaps Europeans have toughened by that time to have undergone the transformation the States has undergone, where the far right is now close to the center right and normal people simply want to solve an ethnic voting problem they only faintly understand.
