Yeah they were all rat catholic run.  If you want to know the real scandal, the Canadian government paid the rat catholics to run these places, with free slave labor in the form of nuns, and probably substandard everything billed at top dollar.  Low overhead, high profit returns.  I'm sure life there was shitty, but they weren't Nazi death camps complete with pedal powered brain bashing machines.
