Thinking I should delist some. /gen/ /o/ /diy/ /pop/ Is what I think. I don't know what I could do to revamp them to bring more traffic.
>>3362
/o/, /sp/ look good to delist. Then merge /pop/, /gen/, and /diy/.

Please don't delist /diy/
as the issue there is more the current # of sitewide posters and not the subject itself.
I truly believe more and more posters will "flow" back from the olde CessPoole, and one of the first boards I believe posters check out other than /pol/ and /b/ are the ones involving "Making" and self sufficiency/homesteading.
*Full disclosure: I have a thread in /diy/, so therefore a vested interest; But one thing that is usually a mainstay for /diy/ boards is homesteading--a glaringly missing thread.

It is very odd that we don't have more posters since the 4FAIL, I can't begin to understand that.

Additionally, (since I'd prefer not to BURN a whole thread here for one simple askance, is If you could update the FAQs to reflect the changes to SAGE.
The checkbox is great, but I must have missed the thread here about underlining the anon's name when it has been "activated"
>pic rel
It might be a nice little "In-group" knowledge thing, and helpful when trying to determine shills and bad actors not familiar with the site to leave the part about the sage indicator out, but I'll have to admit, it caused some confusion for me and I wrongly accused at least a couple anons of being trolls/shills since "That DAMN Anon faggot is at it again and SAMEFAGGING!!" LOL, LMAO, even, as the PissYellerDog would say.
Might save the Mods some false reports.

Hell, I'm not even sure Glowniggers read the FAQs, instead just assuming that the board operates just like the 4 & 8.

I would agree with not de-listing any board which by definition requires a long-run write-up and original content. These will organically take much more time to contribute in, which will massively reduce the PBD and activity. /diy/ is an example of one of these.

/o/, on the other hand, seems like the sort of board that was requested repeatedly by one enthusiast during the great habbening of was4kill, before returning to 4fags when it went back online. This is the type that should be de-listed. A decent metric as well is assessing the number of banners created for boards, including ones that don't exist yet.

I forgot to mention that a board like /s0s/, especially with its database and codex threads, is also going to be another one like /diy/ that takes a lot of time to create plus is used for reference many time by lurkers so the activity will also be slow.

Double checked!
Absolutely, but I'd also point out, de-listing isn't the same as deleting
That said, I knocked around in /ck/ as the only thread maker for 2 months, and while it was comfy, and I could cross-thread individual anons to the "Secret Board", when the 4FAIL hack flooded us for that week, there were a lot of anons asking where boards they were used to over there, were, here.
/meta/ was pretty jumpin' IIRC.

Also, I just posted the Homesteading Roundtable thread in /diy/

I'll explain it. Ourchan was and still is basically unknown. The first thing that came to everyone's mind when the subject altchan came up was 8chan/8kun since the name has been around so long now and the sharty since the hacker was posting there. Ourchan hadn't yet established itself as a brand. Personally, I think Ourchan is a bad name, but once it's picked, you can never change the original domain, only add alternative domains.

I was active here during the whole 4fag ordeal but have slacked on my posting lately.. I've been in the SimpleX group trying to strike up conversation but there's not really anyone there either!

For me personally, the reason I went back to lurking, is that you guys kept accusing my posts of being too low of quality and saying they needed more effort and writing and shit and I gotta be honest, I don't agree with that and am unable to write up a whole story for every headline from clown world out there..

It's tough because you guys sage and complain about stuff unless it's well thought out and has a big writeup but that's just not what I like to do

move all the threads to /b/ and delete the boards.
/b/ here is shit - 4chan mods would delete 9/10 of these threads. those shit threads should be moved to /hell/

yeah, there' will ALWAYS be somebody with some petty complaint.
I think some anons have this Idea that a thread should spring forth, Fully formed like Athena from Zeus' forehead
What's the point of a discussion then...it's just a soliloquy, or a rant.
Besides... How many times have you seen a thread start out with a simple question and Immediately get 3 contradicting answers?
>Yes
>NOOOOOOO!!
>m-maybe?

TOP KEK!!
4FAIL Mods are Trannys and street shitters paid to keep the board moving.
They leave Pr0nSP4m, BBC and abject retardation up on the boards for DAYS, all while decent discussions get moved to bant after B&ing the effortpoasters.
also make sure you leave /ck/ i enjoy food & beerposting
Replies: >>3377
So I'm thinking delist /o/ and /sp/, they aren't getting much activity. Then /gen/ and /pop/ can be combined. I can move any decent threads from those boards to the new one.
I was waiting to see if this thread got more activity before doing anything, thank you for the feedback.
>>3364
Ya I haven't updated the FAQ yet. I didn't realize it underlined your name when you use sage, that should be added.
I'll leave /diy/ there was a lot of people asking for that board, but it's never been active.
>>3376
Yes I'll leave it.

Yeah, it's a cool feature..Part of the "Anons vote with their posts" kinda thing. I just think it was funny It seemed like there was ONE Anon schizophenically contrary samefagging..lel.
If it's not listed in the FAQs it could be both a good way to sus out shills and razz newfags

it's strange how fagchan went from giving Sage an ID to banning Anons for announcing sage

you can’t. if people aren’t interested then they’re not interested. cant force people to fix your car or watch shit anime.
>>3369
n enough people so the boards are too slow, thats it. its a catch 22
>>3405
I 'member that
>>3361 (OP)
I think if you send a video of you doing the thug shaker the board will cum back to life.
>>3361 (OP)
obviously not enough interest. killing the boards moving the threads to /b/ would be an overall improvement.

you'd break every post link in all of it if you did that; but unfortunately there simply is not enough people or traffic here to sustain all these boards
Replies: >>3862
optimally as is this site atm is /pol/ (obviously the preferred flagship board of like all the staff & shit), everything else could go on /b/ threads as interest in discussing it is there, it'd be easier to draw newfags
maybe a /b/ & an /bant/ and that would cover all the rest for sure
but unfortunately there's no way to actually do that in any kind of non-shitty way outside of some complete site reboot
tough one since there's legitimately a lot of good (and ancient) stuff here (how much is from people no longer here is up in the air)

I can only say site reboots aren't the worst thing in the world, can actually be reinvigorating sometimes
and if there was some concerted effort made by people to archive.is everything, it wouldn't all end up completely "lost"
I can't lie I like having semi-permanence to posts, but ultimately none of this is really meant to sit around forever, and trying to preserve the ancient can lead to some bad mod habits
anyway that's my take, it's y'all's site

Not sure if anyone mentioned, but boards will have to be delisted, simply reason being boards like pop came into being because we were not sure that v and tv could work on their own because userbase was very small back then. Also gen, out and diy dont have to be deleted, but put on a temporary hiatus, like hidden for example until userbase grows a bit.
Replies: >>3926
I've tried making new threads for the past few days and I can't. In order to start a thread you need to post an image and the board won't accept any image that I give it.

There is >>>/b/7782 as a work around however >>>/b/7973 indicates proper functionality may be resumed soon (or already back).
>>3862
that's not a terrible idea at all long as you lock them off if nobody is watching them

that comes off sarcastic but isn't intended to
