Hello ourchads!

We’ve received some concerns from people in the community regarding the logo: it’s off-theme, and “MKUltra” come to mind. Frankly, I’m inclined to agree. As the site grows, changes will naturally happen, and the logo was inevitably one of those things. We allow old things to fall by the wayside so that something better may take their place.

There is currently a thread here to update the logo, but I’m invigorating these efforts by making them official. I’m offering a moderate cash prize, from my own wallet, to the winner of the contest. Payout will be in the form of crypto (Monero)

This is OURchan, everyone is encouraged to share their creative process throughout all stages and take feedback from others. Any anons that want to throw out ideas, refine previous designs, work in parallel, etc, may do so. This is a new logo for the community, by the community :)

Please keep discussion in this thread to the creation of a NEW logo. This is a thread of collaboration, not debate.

RULES
- No AI may be used at any stage of the process
- Contest will run until the 22rd of June, 00:00
- Selection method of the winner TBD.

Thank you for being so awesome everyone!

I leave the drawing to someone who can actually draw.

2 issues:
1. AI should not be involved at any stage of the process. I really mean that, not even conceptually.
2. I appreciate the enthusiasm you two! Remember that favicons can be as small as 16x16(!). That's very small, look at the tab you're on for an example.

As a co-creator with Quicksilver, there's already going to be some bias since I know he likes my white toucan / OC colors / Reichsadler mascot and logo. Nevertheless, I'll put forward both the mascot and logo as my submission.

My request is to either return 50% to the 2nd place winner in addition to 50% back to Quicksilver to go towards running OC. Otherwise, 100% of my reward to the 2nd place winner in the event I win. I don't have a Monero wallet, so I don't stand to win anything anyways. My intent is purely to better this place, plus have a quality Third Positionist design / pocket of the Internet.

I'll keep doing variations then, especially with the colors for different sections. Other variations might look better than my first draft.
>Is there any real consensus on what the logo should be? I saw other anons in another thread posting logos with tucans which could look good as well.
We should take a poll using Tegaki on /draw/ or here, so we know it's real anons. I'm honestly confused myself, but pretty neutral on final decision.

For me, I like Ches as the /x/ mascot. Twocan / Toocan as a general mascot or board-specific. Reichsadler Twocan / Toocan as a semi-serious joke variation, and this new logo as the actual logo.

I agree, there really should be an official poll put up somewhere.

>Going with a very common plant with a meaning still kind of makes sense to me, but I'm just one anon.
It's an unfortunate coincidence and casualty, but the clover is already a plant-like thing. The parallel is too strong, besides all the other alt-chans which have clover rip-offs already. Most anons here and the owner seemed to really be stressing originality plus standing apart from 4C as much as possible. I was trying to fit it in as a wreath or branch re-design for the Reichsadler myself.

Here's an idea of it (not cleaned) with the more muted colors similar to your own. I think your Reichsadler with Ouroboros looks fantastic, it exactly mirrors what I was intending to do myself.

My suggestion would be to add green to the toucan. My version splashed some on the beak and claws, but it might fit in with the exterior feathers as well. As seen with my picrel, even a muted green does not 'pop' and that primary color is really needed to stand out. Especially when decreasing the dimensions for a favicon thumbnail.

Respectfully, this is autism-gazing. I considered it, but we've had every idea struck down due to being CIA projects, the long-beak of a jew, ouroboros being self-consuming, and now any form of eye being masonic. This is ridiculous. The logo looks like a cat's eye which has very positive connotations, possibly a toucan's eye, and possibly a flower when reduced in dimension.
>luce has a dodgy origin story.
Explain, so we can work on a solution.
>I don't like occult esoteric shit. Nazi wizards is just going to make it look like a LARP board or a glownigger board.

Yes. We trained ourselves for years to look at, and interpret scumbag symbols and notice patterns and not just discount them as plausible harmless coincidences like everyone else wanted to and despite substantial gaslighting for that.
You're not going to find any group of people in the world that is as dialed in and stuck in on this kind of shit. Anons will look at it, and say 'nope' and fuck off because it will GLOW that not one single anon called it out.

While true, we are at an impasse then due to the simple restriction of objects and designs which capture human attention successfully versus originality. I could just as easily argue all birds are bad because of the United States' symbol, the CIA symbol, and the FBI's symbol is avian. Copy too much, and we won't be original. Copy too little, and it'll look like the countless designs that coincidentally are bad.

You said yourself that you don't like occult esoteric shit. I could just as easily claim white and black looks too much like the Black Sun or ((( Azov ))) Battalion judeo-paganism captured symbolism. We need to draw the line somewhere, because inevitably, there will be a bad use for every object and color pattern that exists.

The Line:
No blatant Nazi or white power imagery. No Totenkopf, swastikas, norse runes or black suns. Something like the legionary's cross would be alright.
No rainbow, trans, or furry colors. No symbology of theirs.
No esoteric stuff that's linked to saturn, the moon, or venus. No eyes
No kike shit.
No MkUltra, monarch butterfly, alice in wonderland, pedo bear/spiral.
No freemasonry

Honestly at this point, I'd just do a cross of some sort bursting a circle. Breaking the chains and lies of this world.

its a war being fought for symbols.
any symbol you value, they will make an effort to debase and defile and carry falsely into their own filth.
its better not to use symbols that are sacred, pearls are precious and there are too many swine
just something that reps the site, it doesn't have to be imbued with meaning. 4chan's symbol was basically an accidental swastika and its just a 4 leaf clover.
it just needs something that is its own and doesn't cause copyright problems.
\ourchan\ would be a good start just to use something for now if you just want to get rid of the cheshire cat.
and another reason (besides origin story) not to pick luce would be potential copyright problems in the future.
its not a problem for anons since we're not an organization, its just fan art, but I don't know if that extends to the site too.
our own luce / yotsuba would be ideal. the site needs to grow and it would be great if the ourchan's yotsuba were generated memetically.

By the way, to prove my point about pretty much every symbol being possibly bad, some could interpret any cross especially with red and white as similar to The Order of the Knights of Malta. This is a Freemason order which I suspect has very heavy ties in a lot of things, especially because noahide slave megachurches such as Rick Joyner's Morning Star ministry are part of it.

Kek. A cross between Winter-chan and Luce's design might be a winner.
>>2742
Prussian Blue looks good, by the way. We have the cross itself which is in a lot of European cultures, both seen in indigenous European Paganism / Heathenry and Christianity. The Legionary Cross and Prison Bars calls to Eastern Europe. St. Patrick's Saltire in there, plus the colors match Australian, British, and American flags. This is a pretty good collection of all ethnic European and diaspora cultures. Should we add runes to it somewhere or allow Winter-chan to represent Northern Europeans?

If you're using a Christian symbol that's specifically aligned with Catholics and not Orthodox/Protestant rather than being pan-Christian someone will care, yes. Applies to Protestant/Orthodox versions too. Even using a Christian symbol of any sort is divisive; I understand that DEUS VULT is fairly popular right now (thanks in large part to Mr Fuentes and Jordan Peterson) but it hasn't been before and maybe won't be again in the future.

You can call it purity spiraling if you want and ask everyone to grow up, but they won't, shit will be flung about it and people will self-remove from a site that commits its icon to one specific branch of one specific religion that cannot be fairly said by anyone, even proponents, to be 100% based.
Replies: >>2848
>>2847
You are 100% purity spiraling. The cross was already changed with the Luce updates and nobody protested (see the post exactly two behind yours). I fully want to change the staff to a Pan-European one, plus the monk lettering is overtly Orthodox. I'd absolutely love to add more indigenous runes or symbology.
>Even using a Christian symbol of any sort is divisive
This is fraudulent reasoning that I sincerely hope is stemming from ignorance rather than divisionfagging. Crosses have plenty of appearances in European ethnic countries without any Christian significance.
>I understand that DEUS VULT is fairly popular right now (thanks in large part to Mr Fuentes and Jordan Peterson) but it hasn't been before and maybe won't be again in the future.
I don't care one wit if israel and the surrounding lands are cloaked in nuclear hellfire. I highly, highly doubt I am alone. You are the only one who has ever said this.
>people will self-remove from a site that commits its icon to one specific branch of one specific religion that cannot be fairly said by anyone, even proponents, to be 100% based.
If you're getting that upset over a cartoon girl mascot, who has already been de-catholicized and isn't the logo, then you really do need to self-remove. The simple truth is that the Asatru Folk Assembly and other groups aren't numerous in number, no matter how based they are. Other groups have taken the lion's share of actually dealing with our enemies both historically and in the last 100 years.

>Oh that explicitly pro-White religious group? They're too small and haven't done enough to count. Only my universalist group counts. That's why we get to have the mascot and you have to just accept a "Pan-European staff" (whatever that means) as your level of inclusion.

Why are you behaving like a catty nigger? I'm not even Orthodox, and even I can spot an ally from a mile off. I have very strong native and indigenous Pagan and Heathen sensibilities (when they aren't part of globohomo, which, unfortunately, every religion has been infilitrated with). I don't know what your contribution has been in the past, and if it's significant, I thank you— but you are behaving like a complete jewess with these posts.

I'm going to type for any readers, rather than you: any ethnic European first group and religion is welcome. All attempts will be made to incorporate us, under our banner. Also, crosses make jews and jeets and glowniggers flinch like nothing else.
Replies: >>2854
>>2852
Because you're dishonestly dodging the obvious points.

I point out that even introducing the topic of religion to the mascot will make it a source of contention, I'm immediately proven right by claims that well obviously Catholicism is actually better than these other religious groups and that's why we should get the mascot and symbolic ownership of the site - I hope nobody needs it explained why this position will be divisive.

Then we pretend that oh well it's a mascot it doesn't really matter and I just need to grow up, I make a counter-example with one you obviously would find upsetting because it's divisive against you, and now I'm getting accused of being jewish and getting called nigger because that pissed you off. Maybe I'm not the only one who needs to grow up.

Every post you've made is hard evidence that introducing religious shitflinging into the mascot by using a specifically Catholic-generated base model is a bad idea, which is my only point. And it seems likely that you're pretending to be even-handed just long enough to get your gal into the mascot position, at which point it'll be time to start clearing out unbelievers.

Although it's hard to be sure since your ID keeps changing.

The true right has a major image/symbol problem. Most of our symbols are wholly unoriginal, our color schemes tend to be...bad, our logos edgy. Black and red and yellow. Where's the orange and burgundy, and purples? Thanks to our dear ADL(sidenote: Who submits random crap as "hate" symbols for fun?) one can rapidly see the patterns in logography. Skulls, swastikas and wolfsangles abound. Thanks to our dear frunds at reddit we can see common symbols. Notice the consistent patterns.

What can be done about this?

it should never be easier to reach mods somewhere else but the site itself, tbh. Also some mods don't seem like they pay attention to the latest/recent screen, which is a chronological listing of all the posts on all the boards they have mod access to. It takes like 5 minutes usually on a site of this size to skim all the posts that were made since last they were on.

*It also shows posts that are saged, since it just shows the posts themselves, doesn't show the entire threads. People have been known to sage post CP and other shit waaaaaaay down in the catalog trying to evade mod notice, as part of efforts to get the site services pulled.

>seven and others were globals
It's my understanding that Seven and Boyan are newer mods, so perhaps the reasons That I won't mention again kek :) that Space is so cautious about extended privileges ties to that.
>it should never be easier to reach mods somewhere else but the site itself, tbh.
I dunno.. I'd never phonepoast here, and i don't carry my laptop with me while doing other things.
I'm pretty sure all the mods(most at least, I hope), Have other things that they do as well IRL.
But your point is well taken.

I too am aware of this tactic.
As I have never been a MOD here--(almost though,) I am not aware of the tools at their disposal.

Seems like that should become SOP here as a MOD.
In the very beginning I took part in several VCs on telefed(TG) seems like a weekly or perhaps bi-monthly short VC for the mods might not be a bad Idea.
Scheduling is the only issue.

Yeah I can't stand phoneposting, but I've known people who mod on their phones. Can't imagine it with the CP and shit.

Every software I've been a jannymin on has an equivalent to latest/recent, I just can't remember exactly what it's called on jschan.

Also, as per your latest /b/ poast.
I too have almost scrapped it all and left a few times. I'm glad I didn't, but I did walk away from posting for a full month, just to watch it play out.
..Had to go take care of biz.
Came back and either someone was late to chime in or (you) are all for IB "ProWrasslin' "
Also, If you were to take the weapons out of your /sock/s you might find a hidden gem that explains a LOT.

Just a thought, but since 4troons was the 4 of clubs and fullchan was the 8 of diamonds, maybe we should pick a playing card first and work backwards from there to a more elegant logo.
>inb4 queen of spades
Jack of hearts, 7 of hearts something like that.
