Is a .300 blackout bolt action a good buy? Buddy had one that was super quiet suppressed.

My hick buddy said something about 300 blackout being 9mm with more powder?
If that is the case I will continue not buying it. I've never had a 9.

If you are looking to suppress something I'd recommend a .22 with a 5-6" threaded barrel if your suppressor is at least 4". All of your powder will burn up producing zero flash at that approximate length and your impact will be lower than the shot IF you hold your action closed OR buy a bolt action .22. You could be the most inhumanely lethal bush they never saw. Pair that with a couple bush buddies. GG.

.300 blk is in term of ballistics just 7.62x39 that fits into AR mags. The bigger caliber and the weigh makes it more suitable for deer hunting than 5.56. But you also gotta consider the price, 5.56 is probably a lot cheaper if most of what you're gonna be doing is shooing for fun/competition. If hunting represents a smaller part of your overall usage it might be best to go with 5.56. Just more options for ammo and it's cheaper and it can still do the job. And check your local laws, some states and region have restrictions on the use of semi auto firearms for hunting and minimum caliber requirements for certain game animals

I went on a rant for ar rifles, when it comes to 300 blk most people talk about ar rifles, but you are considering a bolt action. I think the info still applies https://youtu.be/nMMdRAWn0f0

Fair enough, but ammo is cheap as hell for me as I reload

look into 8.6 blackout for a bolt gun. 300 blackout subsonic is super quiet, I was thinking about doing an SBR with it but I just finished my 556 sbr and I don't need to drop a bunch more money right now.
