I'm using GIMP to get the job done.
I learned by using photoshop but never .gif since i'm a brainlet.
this was my first gif. When it comes to the crispness/sharpness. i just made sure the source material and full size is of the highest clarity before i scale it down. 
like for banners i used 1200 x 400 and filled it up best i could with high quality source material.
That netted me the crispest results.

also this .gif business is a fuckton of work compared to images. had to duplicate every frame basically and combine them to create a new "frame by frame" and name them appropriately without knowing the frame commands (60ms) (replace) etc.

Yup... I don't bother naming the frames though, but most of my stuff has hidden comments, either in the Meta, or in the work itself,(easy to see if opened in an OS picture viewer program like Windows live photo gallery or digiKam)
I won't do it tonight, but when I download and test the above .gif maker, I'll report back.
I just know it's gonna feel like cheating if it a lot quicker though.

I only ever RAEPed good foods, ,(or at least valiant attempts on complex recipes.)
