The bad news is reading books is still interfacing with the brain rot, its just distilled through the human centipede pipeline of the publisher, editor, and writer. Academia and scientific journals are no better. They're fully cucked by their superiors and benefactors. Any hint of original thought or challenging of norms is dealt with accordingly.

If there were a place that let you express yourself like you described it would likely get the kiwifarms treatment once it reached critical mass. There would be some mass shooting event that gets tied back to the site or someone would cry their little heads off about how evil the site is and then get corpos to take it offline.

The best thing you can do is stick to IRL. Make your friend group the place where you go to interact with people with good tastes. Continue to use the internet as a tool like you have been. If you're worried about state level surveillance and reporting then stop using their spyware(technology). The octopus of global control is powerless if you stop engaging with it.

You guys are wrong. Look up niche and alternative publishers. Sky horse publishing for example will touch unusual subjects. For all the censored crap and laymen nonfiction clogging up the front page of amazon there is a huge number of self-published or alternative publishers you can find. There are still a lot of charming websites out there, despite the horrible social media. The Melonland project was created by a guy named Daniel, he highly specializes in that old 2000's internet feel. They have their own dedicated forum for the old web, as long with fun other cool stuff he created.

Same here. I have zero reason to go on the internet these days. I also have retreated to analog activities like reading books. 
I visit chans to find a discussion sometimes because it does get extremely lonely at times.
