I have become interested in Retroshare recently. While onboarding is kind of a pain, you need to know someone who is in the node graph you want to join, I think this friction is actually the defining feature which will help keep the bots in check. Retroshare has a Tor router built in, for easy turn-key Hidden Node setup. Retroshare has a half-dozen "applications," such as file sharing, e-mail, forums, chat, etc. Linking is bidirectional, meaning both sides need to share Retroshare IDs with each other. The project will be 20 years old this year, is still under development, and it still *does not* have a functioning mobile client! (an anti-thirdie feature IMO, though I am sure an enterprising anon could get the desktop client working on an Android device in Termux.)
