<No country is safe from this, 33% of the U.S. is 100 million starvation deaths.
That's not how fertilizer to food supply / starvation works. There's far more food that gets thrown out and never used with current levels. People in the West can easily stand to lose fat and live on far less besides. It's far more likely to end up as 'you will own nothing and be happy' levels, as 2019-2023 accelerated or the current tariffs also massively contributed with.

Me and my wife are homesteaders, we probably produce 85 percent of all food our family consumes. A dairy cow(by 2030ish) will take us up to 98 percent, with the remaining 2 percent will be easy to just go without.

I used to be a major effortposter on the frenschan circle-the-wagons prepping board. Miss it.

Well I can't refute the term fad, but prepping has been pretty consistent in it's popularity since the 90s. 

The people who took it up during COVID are still doing it(if they are smart). It took Weimar Germany 5 years to collapse after the treaty of versaillas. Here we are 5ish years post COVID and things are accelerating.

Me and my wife design most of our homestead to use 1930s technology and methods. But with modern materials it makes the whole shebang even more efficient.

It helps that I live a few miles from the original 1908 family homestead so I KNOW that it was possible to survive as a peasant farmer in this area with minimum tech, but I have a bit more means so we can future proof as much as possible before the collapse. Time is running short, I think we will be in 1931 but end of next year, but by 2030 at the latest(probably by design). 

Even Klaus Schwabs book acknowledges that in his future dystopia that the elites want to bring about, there will be people living outside the system, but in an 19th century existance.

That where I am aiming to be.

I think prepping is more about skillsets than stocks. Can you bug out on short notice and manage? Can you make do without supply or power for a month? Do you have the information for sustainment? Are you fit a serious enough to defend your home from looters or crime? Are you safe from the threat of tyrannical government? Those skills mean more than a year of food stocks for survival. Your home might burn, you might be detained and be looted, you may have to flee. At that point your tech level drops to your personal kit

You can be a prepper anywhere, anyone with a plan, supplies(either carried or cached) and foresight is a prepper.

...actually, in my opinion the armageddon scenarios are far more distant and unlikely. The real prep scenario has to be the imposition of martial law and roundups. Even if it unlikely today, that's what the threat of tomorrow looks like. When an evil government uses the powers they already have to start targeting various members of the community. It's so damned easy to turn into China's social model with the tech we have, it almost happened during covid and they are itching to follow that pathway anyways.

So.... riots in the cities, gov declares martial law, countless communities get doorknocked in a silent plague, and you've got to flee. That's worse than the nuclear world in many ways, because at least then you were expected to live in concert with the government. But if they want you, you've got to think about where you're going to flee. How you'll live underground, when the entire methodology for how people do this is increasingly obsolete. That's the real danger scenario

it's easy to go high on ruck march weights. You just have to make sure your core can take it and that your feet are used to marching. People have untapped endurance like they wouldn't believe.

You should be able to reliably hit man-sized targets at 250m with a rifle and at 50m with a pistol. You should be able to low crawl 200m to firing position through the brush undetected. You should be able to orient and march several kilometers off the road to circumvent roadblocks. You should be familiar with radios and living rough in situ for 2-3 days without heat sources and overhead cover. 

The coming threat environment is basically hell. Dictatorships using track and trace with phones to map social networks, basic drones flying out of sight with thermal cameras probing the woodlands, real time scanning of information with data centers. Non line of sight munitions. Digital ID. You ever read Days of Future Past? That's our future, it's not a parody.
