Reconciliation is a lucrative grift that has given these people unprecedented political access and money. Of course they promote it, it benefits them. The stupid ones are the white european women who believe and promote the cult of indian victimhood by whitewashing history and writing grievance narratives for them.

Indians are one of those low talent, low capacity races which were always going to struggles in a modern society. They did, this is entirely true. Most especially so as their traditional industries like fur trading began to taper off and they were stuck living as primitives on the margins. They also did objectively lose control of the lands around them. That's absolutely true. The only addendum is that compared to other conquests of similar people, they've gotten off very lucky. 

Ultimately however, they're responsible for the current miserable state they live in. The GOC has pumped countless millions into reconciliation and yet most reserves are still nothing but dumps. The prosperous bands which exist are living in islands of government funding
